The Problem Solver
The Problem Solver is someone we all want to have in our corner when we get into a mess, but he can stumble by being too capable for others and not capable enough for himself.
Internal
Internal
- Resourceful; reliable and mature
- Able to face reality, but may lack imagination
- Disciplined; can exercise restraint
- Stable; not easily influenced by emotions of others
- Emotionally motivated; can achieve goals
- Pleased with himself; little self-blame
Interpersonal
- Sticks to projects; perseveres
- Is not easily disturbed
- Is savvy in relationships; knows how to get his point across
- Does not panic easily; good under fire
- Makes best out of what life offers
Normal ---> Extreme
- Coping skills ---> excessive self-sufficiency
The traits of Problem Solvers are usually in evidence in childhood when their efficiency is notable. In adulthood, their abilities continue to be rewarded in many fields such as engineering or law. Their process goes like this: Recognize a problem ---> generate options ---> make choices ---> follow through.
